A Print with History

The Antique Botanical print began in the pages of old English botanical books. These drawings—sometimes more like pencil sketches than paintings—captured the detail of flowers and leaves in a traditional way, long before modern textile design. When I discovered them, I wanted to bring that history forward, but in my own language of color and silhouette.

This is why I call it Antique. It carries the feeling of something familiar and traditional, yet with new life in the way it has been recolored and reimagined.

The Colorways

I explored this motif in two directions:

Antique Botanical Small Pastel

Soft whites, pale blues, and gentle pinks. This palette reminds me of white linen in summer—pure, innocent, and simple. Styled this way, the print almost looks embroidered, like delicate stitches across fabric. It feels light, airy, and perfect for the ease of warmer days.

Antique Botanical Big White

Bolder and more graphic, this variation uses scale and contrast to give the motif presence. Still refined, but with stronger lines that carry the look of vintage botanical drawings into something more modern.

Both interpretations feel timeless, yet each tells a different story depending on how you choose to wear it.

The Silhouettes

For this collection, I wanted the silhouettes to let the print speak.

The Audrey Dress with its shirt collar and belted waist keeps the look classic and elegant, while the Aster Dress in its full skirt makes the motif move with every step. The Amber Dress, with its softer lines, feels almost romantic—letting the Antique Botanical pattern fall more freely.

Each silhouette transforms the print: structured, flowing, or soft. One motif, many lives.

A Note from Samantha

“I think of the Antique Botanical as a bridge between past and present—traditional drawings translated into fabric, then reimagined in color. It is familiar and new at the same time. My hope is that when you wear it, you feel that same sense of quiet history made modern.”
