Wool Sheer, Soft, and Nothing Like You Thought

Women don’t expect it. Not from wool. But this one feels like air: light, sheer, and quietly warm. It moves with you. It doesn’t weigh you down.

In Europe, they layer it over a slip and wear it with boots. In California, it’s perfect from October through March. It brings texture and elegance without the weight.

A Fabric That Feels Like Air: Discovering the Unexpected Beauty of Wool

By Samantha Sung

I’ve noticed something.
The women who wear my dresses aren’t looking for trends — they’re looking for a feeling.
They want something that moves with them, that surprises them, that feels just right.

That’s what happened with this wool.

When I first touched it, I was stunned.
It didn’t feel like wool at all.
It felt like air.

Very light  almost like cotton voile  but with the quiet warmth only wool can bring.
It’s soft. Not itchy at all. You can see through it just slightly, which gives it this gentle transparency and graceful movement.
People are surprised when they touch it. I was too.

✨ Not the Wool You’re Expecting

If the word “wool” makes you think of heavy coats or scratchy winter sweaters, this will change your mind.

This wool is delicate, breathable, and quietly luxurious.
It adds texture without weight. It carries warmth without heaviness. It layers like a dream.

In Europe, women wear it over slips and boots. It’s part of their everyday elegance — never fussy, always effortless.
In California and warmer climates, I find it’s perfect from October through March.

It’s become one of my favorite fabrics to design with.

🧭 The Three Elements That Shape a Dress

What makes a dress feel like it belongs to you?

Over time, I’ve learned it comes down to three things:
Fabric. Motif. Silhouette.

These are the three variables that shape the feeling — and when they come together, something clicks.

  • The fabric brings the life. Does it float? Does it drape? Does it shine?
Musola floats. Ramyan drapes. Duchesse shines. This wool? It moves like breath.

  • The motif brings the emotion. A bold abstract. A soft floral. A quiet stripe.
Every one of our prints is hand-drawn — with either a brush or a pen — so they feel more like paintings than patterns.

  • And the silhouette holds it all together.
Audrey. Esther. Aster. These are the forms I return to again and again. They’re feminine, elegant, and endlessly adaptable.

Change one of these three things, and the whole dress transforms.

That’s the beauty of it. You don’t need to follow a theme.
You just follow what speaks to you.

Where to Start

If you're curious about this wool, I suggest starting with a silhouette you already love  perhaps the Audrey and seeing how the fabric changes the mood. It's lighter. A little more romantic. A little more European.

This collection was designed with layering in mind.
The fabric is already here. The pieces are ready to photograph. Soon, they’ll be ready for you.
